Start a Chapter

If you are an organization based outside of Massachusetts and would like to start your own Chapter of Gathering Change, Inc. the IRS requires the following:

A group exemption letter is a ruling or determination letter issued to a central organization recognizing on a group basis the exemption under section 501(c) of subordinate organizations on whose behalf the central organization has applied for recognition of exemption. Gathering Change would fill out the group exemption form and send the required fee to the IRS. Once approved chapters can be formed througout the United States. It takes between two to six months.

Prior to allowing a Chapter to be formed in another state, Gathering Change, Inc. will have the right to deny or approve a Chapter. A Chapter of Gathering Change, Inc. can only be established in another state if the subordinate organization agrees to follow our adopted bylaws.
