Fundraising In Your Town

Maintain a positive attitude.

Make a realistic plan-If you are planning on a school fundraiser be sure to get permission.

Keep the fun in fundraising-put your talents and skills to use. When considering what type of fundraiser you want to have please follow the Gathering Change, Inc. bylaws which state that fundraisers should not be competitive in nature,  prizes should not be awarded and we discourage raffles.

Be polite and respectful...if the answer is no be sure to thank your potential donor for considering your cause.

How to approach local businesses and organizations:

• Come up with a list of businesses and organizations, and contact person in your community.
   
• Send a letter to your targeted audience.
   
• Follow up with a phone call: Ask if they received the letter and that you would be glad to answer any questions they may have, or have them look at our website at www.gatheringchangeinc.org.
   
• Follow up: After the fundraiser send them an informational letter thanking them and telling them how much was raised and who benefited. We will post this information on our website.
