Collecting Spare Change In Your Community

Hunger is a real issue in our communities. There are over 660,000 Massachusetts residents who do not know where their next meal is coming from. Our goal is to collect spare change from our homes, schools, faith communities and businesses so that together we can stock the shelves with non perishable food items at our local food pantries.

There are a few facts you should know about Gathering Change, Inc., that make us unique:

• The funds raised in your community stay in your community.
   
• We are an all volunteer organization and no salaries are taken.
   
• Every donation no matter how small will make an immediate impact in your community.
   
• Since we are asking for change, this allows everyone the opportunity to give.
   

We need volunteers in our neighborhoods, schools, houses of worship and businesses. We are hoping to recruit high school students who need to fulfill their community service requirements as well as seniors who are looking to give back. Children of every age can participate.

One of the unique ways individuals or groups within our communities can help is to Host Gathering Change Parties. During our collection week the sponsor would invite neighbors and friends to bring over their spare change, providing light refreshment and a chance to get together.
